A property owner in Newport Beach CA who was suffering with asthma and sinus infections as well as musty smell throughout her home, discovered wet soil under her crawlspace which was covered with 6 mil plastic and a structure that suffered from an old water damaged.

This project had several unique challenges and the results were outstanding across the board. Memorable, colorful and exciting.
After a free and no-obligation property assessment, we discovered that a Ground water was leaking and surfacing from the neighbor’s pool which was approximately 50-100 feet away into her crawlspace. This prompted the neighbors to shut down the pool and drain it to investigate the leakage. It meant for us to start the drying process right away so we can deal with the mold clean up.
Because there was so much mold infestation throughout the crawl space, The homeowners needed to be relocated. Following the above, proper containment was set up with appropriate engineering control in the crawl space to prevent cross contamination to the living area and prevents the air movement from disturbing mold spores, making them airborne and decreasing contamination control. After dehumidifiers and fans were placed for few days the cause of the leak repaired, all the structure under the house was treated for mold and disinfected using approved disinfectant.
Once the clean up was completed, as a secondary safeguard, a clean space with 6 mil plastic was installed through the crawlspace.
